Who We Are Sobriety O'clock is a Kenyan-based nonprofit foundation committed to transforming the landscape of addiction recovery, with support rooted in cultural understanding and empathy for every individual deserving of a second chance. Our founder, Paul Karanja, redirects a portion of proceeds from his boutique safari adventure business, Gorilla O'clock, to empower recovery and restore livelihoods.
Our Story Paul was raised in a Christian household with unmatched passion for enriching the lives of those he encounters. When at an early age addiction affected his family, Paul educated himself on how to not only help those struggling with substance use disorder, but to unite communities that have become the unintended victims of addiction. After receiving rave reviews from two decades of customizing safaris for clients across 5 continents, Paul turned escorting clients on their dream vacations into establishing a foundation aimed at improving the lives of communities devastated by addiction.
